The Quest For The Perfect Notebook

I have a thing for notebooks. I have way too many blank notebooks. I’m steadily filling them up, but I have enough to last me for… a while. But there’s always more to look at when it comes to stationary and notebooks. I’ve gotten into the fountain pen hobby, so now I’m on the lookout for some pocket sized notebooks that work well with fountain pens. Preferably ones that lie flat.

I May Have A Notebook Problem

I’ve written about notebooks a lot in the last couple of months. And that should be a pretty good indicator that something fishy is going on. I’m developing a new… interest. I was going to use the word obsession, but I’m not there yet. I have bought some new, but crappy notebooks to replace my Field Notes, and I’ve started messing with my full sized notebook again.

Smaller Notebooks Are Better Notebooks

I’m filling up my Field Notes notebooks quickly, so I’ve been on the lookout for my next set. I figured I would go cheaper this time, since Field Notes (it’s a brand) are quite pricey. I found some generic A6 size notebooks on Amazon that looked nice and have about 10 times the number of pages as the Field Notes.

I’ve been scribbling in one the last couple of days, and I realize that I don’t care for them as much. They’re too thick. They’re not as easy to write on, nor do they feel as nice to write on as the Field Notes.
