Music Journal 1
I’m going to start sharing some of the music I’m listening to. I’ve finally moved away from streaming music services and I’ve found it very nice to listen to my own music for once. I talked a few days ago about albums vs playlists, but I’ve actually found myself listening to a few albums. It’s been very nice.
Leave This Town by Daughtry⌗
I love this entire album, but Life After You is by far my favorite track. I love Daughtry’s voice, I think he’s probably one of the most iconic singing voices of my generation.
Elect the Dead by Serj Tankien⌗
System of a Down is perhaps my favorite band ever. If not the favorite, they’re definitely in the top 5. When they broke up and Serj went solo, I was dubious, but he can really sing. I’m not as big a fan of his later work, but his album Elect the Dead is one of the rare albums that hits on every single song.
Licensed to Ill by Beastie Boys⌗
I can’t believe this is a bleeding classic now, but it is. There are so many great tunes on this one: Brass Monkey, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Paul Revere, and of course Fight for Your Right. That last one may have been the anthem of my middle school years.
I’ve been scrobbling my music for a bit now, so it will be easy for me to occasionally make some small posts about what I’m enjoying.
