May 2025 Wrap Up

Another month gone. We’re damn near halfway through this year already. Time just moves too fast.

This was a mixed month for me if we’re being honest. A lot of tech problems. A few expensive things I didn’t anticipate. Many things that just didn’t go my way this month.

But I kept on tracking. I really do love doing this. No matter what is going on in my life, keeping track of what I’ve been doing in the digital realm helps me put things in perspective.

I started to track my browsing habits on my main PC this month. This started on 5/6, so it’s not the entire month, but the numbers are pretty damning.

  • YouTube - 2d 17h. Yeah. I talked about this. It’s an issue. But, also, maybe not one? A lot of this time is in the background, while I’m doing other things. Some of it’s not, though. Something to keep an eye on.
  • FreshRSS - 6h 51. More than I thought. I don’t know how much of this was just me leaving an article open for a while. The tracker is supposed to filter out inactive tabs, so it should be somewhat accurate.
  • Reddit - 4h 29m. This one shocked me the most. I was sure that I had cut my Reddit stuff way down. I honestly do not remember spending this much time on Reddit. I will pay attention more this upcoming month.
  • Jitsi - 4h 25m. Meetings with my buds and the podcast.
  • ChatGPT - 4h 55m. Another surprise. But I had it open the entire time I installed Gentoo, and that was over 3 hours.

Obviously, I didn’t put all the sites I spent time on here, just the ones that I thought notable.

There are some doozies in there this month.

  • Kindle - 27h 47m. A lot of reading done this month. I read six books. A good reading month, finally.
  • Firefox - 18h 49m. Mostly reading Fanfiction, I’m sure.
  • Fanfiction.net - 12h 8m. More reading.
  • Vivaldi - 10h 39m. More reading.
  • YouTube TV - 4h 13m.
  • YouTube - 2h 14m.
  • Agr (rss) Reader - 1h 42m

A lot of my TikTok time was spent on YouTube. Less, but still some of that time transferred. I read a lot, guys. Often times, when my ADD gets a hold of me, I will turn to a book or something before going back to work. Often times I’m doing three or four things at a time. I isn’t efficient, but it works for me.

This month I read 1,400 pages, and spent 21h and 13m tracking actual reading. That doesn’t include the books that are only tracked by percentage.

Here are the books I read:

  • Unnamed smut story - I’m not saying what this one was. It was ronchy AF. ⭐️⭐️1/2
  • Ready Player One - Finished my reread. It was just as good the second time as the first. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Claws and Cuddles - Yandere cat girl story. Not as horrid as it sounds. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
  • Warlock Book 1 - Excellent HaremLit story regarding a world where witches outnumber wizards 13:1. Wizard goes to school, has to build a coven to protect himself from all the other covens who want his magic for their own. Unlike other harem stories, this one doesn’t get to the smut until the end of the book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Warlock Book 2 - The first one was so good, I picked up the second one right away. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Those are the one’s I finished. These are the books I’m still reading.

  • Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World by Jack Weatherford
  • Power and Thrones by Dan Jones
  • Rereading The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.

Not much in the way of pods this month.

  • First Things First (some post draft stuff, and NBA Finals)
  • 2.5 Admins

Less YouTube. More reading. I’d also like to finish the two history books I’ve been reading for ages. I also have a ton of backlog in my Audible. I either need to start listening to that stuff or stop paying for it.

I’d also like to go through my subscriptions again and see where I can cut out. I think next month, I might put in a section on expenses.

Are you tracking? How’d you do this month?
