My Favorite Bands of All Time

Music is very personal. We all like what we like, and there's not much that anyone can say to change that. So, despite knowing that what I like is very unlikely to resonate with others, I'm going to talk about my favorite bands of all time. I've already done TV and Movies, so check those out if you want to see more of my listicles.

Breaking Benjamin

They don't have a single bad song. Their vocals are amazing, and their lyrics never disappoint. One of the few bands I'd go see in person if I had the chance.

Creed

This one will probably get me into trouble because people don't like Creed that much. But I do. I was a die hard country music fan when Human Clay came out. Listening to that album changed my music taste forever. It broadened my horizons unlike any other band on this list. To this day, Creed brings back memories of high school and friends.

Skillet

There's something about this band that just stirs emotion. Every song they sing hits you in the feels, and I love that. Add in that they're not afraid to embrace their sound, and it just makes them more special.

Shinedown

The sound of Shinedown is unique, and I like that. But more, Brent Smith is admirable for how he overcame his personal demons, and incorporated that journey into his music. They have no bad music, old or new.

Slash

He can really play the guitar. Maybe not a band, but I'll still put him here simply because he's spectacular.

Five Finger Death Punch

With a name like that, how can you not like them? The music is great too.

Three Days Grace

One-X may be one of the best albums ever released. It's just banger after banger. Their other stuff is good too, but that album is my favorite. The new singer isn't terrible, but not as good as the OG.

Buckcherry

Sorry is probably the best song I've ever heard. It's great.

Linkin Park

They have some really ass songs, to be sure. But those are outweighed by some truly fantastic singles. The new lead singer isn't bad, but she's no Chester.

Bloodhound Gang

If you're a fan of lyrics, these guys can spin an outstanding song. They're crude and crass, but they're the most fun band (if you can even call them that) that I know.

Quiet Riot

The first old band on the list. They have so many good songs. The Wild and the Young is my favorite.

Imagine Dragons

These guys make trippy music videos, but their music is spectacular. So many good songs.

Nickelback

LOL, yeah. I like Nickelback. They have good songs, I can't help it. Hating them has become a meme, which is a shame. Some of the best music in the last 20 years has come from Nickelback.

Matchbox Twenty

My mid-teens were filled with this band. Rob Thomas can really sing, and they have so many songs that suck you in. They're one of the few bands that can pull off both upbeat music and more low-key tunes without losing what makes them unique.

AC/DC

I don't even really need to say more. An iconic band if there ever was one.

Seether

I like almost all Seether's stuff. From the sad to the more upbeat stuff, it's all good. Another band that can really hit you in the feels.

Green Day

American Idiot is my favorite of theirs, but they have loads of good stuff. Wake me up when September Ends is also really good.

I only listed bands here outside of Slash. I think I'll do singers another day. And maybe my favorite songs of all time, too. This is fun. What are your favorite bands? Please let me know in the comments below or on Mastodon.

This is day 10 of 30 in 30.
